Students gain an in-depth awareness and empathy for individuals with unique needs including clients throughout the lifecycle, those with disabilities, and those with diverse cultural backgrounds. An emphasis is placed on recognition of barriers and issues that affect access to care, as well as, the modifications to care that are needed to meet the needs of a diverse client population.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
