Course description

Students explore holistic health to support children's development from birth to 12 years within the context of each child's unique family and culture. Emphasis is placed on modelling a healthy lifestyle and promoting children's understanding of childhood health, nutrition, and the importance of physical activity. Students examine the legislative requirements of group care which are necessary to plan safe, inclusive environments that reflect the belief that children and capable and competent.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
