In this course, students study the theoretical application and operation of standard metal cutting machine tools in conjunction with basic techniques required for manufacturing and assembly of machined components. Students discuss the process of steel and iron manufacturing, metallurgical qualities and related environmental impacts. The study of Metrology is introduced along with its importance to manufacturing.
