Students gain an in depth knowledge of the pharmacology required to administer Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) medication (as per the National Occupational Competency Profiles drug list and the American Heart Association guidelines for adult, pediatric and neonatal resuscitation).Students learn to perform medical math, make critical decisions and evaluate pharmacological interventions in the context of clinical presentations. Prescription and over-the-counter medications are reviewed and the management of toxidromes is examined.

Prerequisites


Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
