This course is a practical application of knowledge pertaining to the safe set-up and operation of standard metal cutting machine tools, the correct and safe selection of cutting tools, Revolutions Per Minute (R.P.M.), feed rates and machining process. Students complete an action plan prior to each class and monitor their progress until completion. Estimating time and machines used supports the entrepreneurial spirit.

Post Secondary level TDIE 1001 Basic Machine Tool Application Minimum Grade of 50

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
