Course description

This course builds on the Registered Practical Nurses’s (RPN) knowledge of anatomy and physiology, the nursing process, holistic nursing care within the interprofessional health care team and biological and social sciences theories. RPNs review critical thinking and problem solving to achieve a theoretical understanding of nursing care strategies that address clients' needs pertaining to acute physical or mental health challenges. RPNs review concepts and principles of care that translate to a variety of practice circumstances. A student must attain a minimum of 60% or a letter grade of P (Pass) or S (Satisfactory) in this course.
