Course description

In this hands-on course, students learn web production techniques utilizing Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) to create the structure of a web page and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control colour, layout and type. Emphasis is placed on constructing web pages that conform to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards and accessibility guidelines outlined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). In addition to coding, students learn the basics of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), website builders, Content Management Systems (CMS), and how to prepare, format, and organize files correctly.
