Strategic Intelligence
PSIN 2014
Course description
Students examine the principles and practices of intelligence and risk management within security environments. Using a variety of channels, including intelligence bulletins, reports, and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), students identify, research, source, collect, and evaluate information to assess threats and identify risks. Students explore the relationship between intelligence functions, law enforcement, and private security organizations, and apply recognized intelligence analysis methodologies to support informed decision-making. Emphasis is placed on understanding and applying the intelligence cycle to generate clear, accurate, and actionable reports. Students develop skills in identifying and assessing security risks, effectively communicating those risks, and supporting sound evaluation and decision-making processes through practical exercises and case studies. Through these activities, students build the competencies required to contribute effectively to intelligence-led security operations in both public and private sector contexts
