Course description

Students examine the history of sports and its significance in economics, politics, and the development of a national identity. Students also examine specific issues such as the emergence of professional sports in Canada,questions of ethics, commercialization, the relationship between sports and media, the internationalization of sports, and the Olympic movement



Course Hours


Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
