Protection and Control
Following a review of power system equipment, students define common protection terms and use common IEEE device designations while performing acceptance tests on protective relay schemes and elements. Combined with logic statements and a breaker control scheme, students develop a coordinated over-current protection scheme typically found in large manufacturing or utility environments. The culmination of the course has students analyze protection event reports to determine correct protection system function.

or Post Secondary level ELEC 2023 Power Transmission and Dist 1 Minimum Grade of 50
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
