Programming for the Mainframe

Course description

Large-scale mainframe computing continues to play a vital role in enterprise systems. Many of these systems run legacy applications utilizing the COBOL programming language. This course prepares students to work as an applications programmer on mainframe systems. Students learn the COBOL programming language in depth, as well as how other programming languages such as C and Java are compiled and used on Mainframe systems.



Course Hours



Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
