Physical Protection Planning

Course description

Students apply foundational physical security principles across public and private sector environments by identifying threats, analyzing vulnerabilities, and assessing risks to people, assets, facilities, information, and critical infrastructure. Students evaluate risk, identify appropriate risk treatment options to support organizational resilience, and apply Physical Protection System (PPS) methodologies to reduce organizational loss. Students also examine indicators and warnings of workplace violence to apply best practices and safeguards, explore Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and other environmental strategies to reduce crime and risk, and develop an understanding of security awareness and reporting frameworks that strengthen workplace protection
