Course description
Students explore the concepts of pharmacology as they further develop the skills necessary for the safe administration of medications. With a focus on pharmacotherapeutics and pharmacodynamics, the student will develop an understanding of major drug classifications and selected individual drugs, mechanisms of action, indications for use, therapeutic and adverse effects, nursing considerations and essential client teaching using the nursing process. Drug legislation, medication standards of practice, legal, ethical and cultural aspects of drug administration are explored. There is an emphasis on the role of the nurse in the administration of medications and dosage calculation skills are reviewed

and Post Secondary level NRSG 1022 AHA Minimum Grade of P
