Issues in Business 1
Through this seminar course, students select, strategically analyze and discuss current events in business. Research is conducted by examining relevant and reputable business periodicals and journals. The analysis includes a thorough discussion of the business impact of the events in question and modifications needed to capitalize on emerging opportunities or to mitigate potential threats. Newsworthy events for analysis are selected from local, provincial, and national business environments. By the end of this course, students have a deeper understanding of the impact that external events can have on business performance and employee productivity.
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
