Introduction to Modern Art
In this course, students examine the progress of art theories, styles, and disciplines from 1850-1945. Consideration is given to the scientific, historical, and political events that created the impetus for change. Beginning with the experiments of the Impressionists, students explore the development of "modern" art through the revolution of form into Cubism and Abstraction.
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
