Course description

Students investigate the elements of gemmological knowledge that are important in jewellery design, metalsmithing, gem-setting and jewellery repair. They also explore the practices of instrumental gem identification that are necessary for persons in the jewellery trade.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
