Course description
This course covers the legal framework within which business takes place. The student develops an awareness of some of the legal issues that may arise in business. Major topics include: the Canadian legal system, tort, contract law, consumer protection including the Sale of Goods Act, employment law, privacy and intellectual property legislation, and the different structures of business

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
