In this course, students learn fundamental principles of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) in a building. They also study the mechanical and electrical equipment of a building, along with water supply, plumbing, and drainage systems. Students explore the implications of building services in the performance of a building and the current and emerging requirements for its sustainable operation. Consideration is also given to applicable requirements of the Ontario Building Code (OBC).
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
