Course description

Students acquire a working knowledge of human form and function, and the interrelationship of the body systems. Biomechanics relevant to the field of recreation therapy is examined. Lifespan growth and development principles and theories are explored according to the cognitive, psychosocial and physical domains, and the implications for goal development and intervention strategies are discussed. Students are introduced to common examples of medical terminology and gain an understanding of the expertise and roles within an interdisciplinary team.



Course Hours


Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
