Biography

Vanessa Simpson has been a part of the Georgian College community since 2006. She studied Interior Design at Georgian and is excited to bring her passion of learning and teaching to the classroom.

Vanessa is also a Land Use Planner and Project Manager for a consulting firm in Barrie, ON. In her role, she’s responsible for many planning and land development projects including residential, commercial and institutional developments. Vanessa manages large multidisciplinary teams effectively, while meeting key deadlines.

Vanessa is eager to engage and work with the design and development community in the Barrie and surrounding area, and looks forward to bringing real-life experiences and examples to the classroom.

My favorite thing about teaching interior design students is to see their own unique designs come to life. While they are all instructed with the same requirements each student makes every project their own, which is an expression of themselves, their experiences and their interests.
