Why use CSL?

Service learning or community service learning (CSL) is a high-impact practice (HIP) according to the National Survey of Student Engagement conducted annually by the University of Indiana across North America.

As a teaching and learning strategy, it positively impacts academic engagement and learning, as well as community engagement by supporting increased, deeper and more meaningful connections with peers and faculty (NSSE Research Brief, 2013, pp. 1-2).
