Course description

Students engage in the concept of wellness as it relates to leisure and the role of leisure education in helping individuals develop and live enjoyable, healthy, and satisfying leisure lifestyles. Students examine their own values, lifestyles, learning styles, and needs before being introduced to strategies and techniques for enhancing the leisure lifestyle of others. Values clarification strategies are explored as an integral aspect of the leisure education process. Students develop, implement, and evaluate a leisure education lesson plan.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
