Intervention Strategies (ODE)
Students gain an understanding of the principles and application of intervention strategies designed to assist persons with developmental disabilities acquire new skills. Students observe and record situations to develop an understanding of behaviours. Through evaluation of the data, students develop plans to assist, coach or teach skills for people with developmental disabilities that optimize independence and encourage self-advocacy.
Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
