Activation in Gerontology

Course description

Students are introduced to Activation in Gerontology. Emphasis is placed on theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are required when planning, developing, and evaluating activity programs for aging individuals. Health and safety, accessibility and falls prevention are also examined. A comprehensive approach with consideration of psychological, physiological, and social issues that impact aging individuals, their families and caregivers are explored.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
