Visit the grand opening of Georgian Jewellery on March 28

Students from Georgian’s Jewellery Design, Bench Skills and Business program will help launch the grand opening of Georgian Jewellery, the on-campus student-run jewellery store, on March 28. Hand-made jewellery created by first-year students of the program will be on display, with many pieces for sale. Almost all the jewellery is handmade, including rings, bracelets, pendants, brooches, and more. Plus, on the day of the grand opening you can get your jewellery cleaned and inspected for free!

Georgian Jewellery is located in room M153, M building at the Barrie Campus.

Students are in the store for six hours each week as part of their business course with a combination of class work and lab time. During the lab time students get a hands-on learning experience where they practise managing and running the store, interacting with customers, and more. Similar to Georgian’s health and wellness clinics, the jewellery store is open to the community.

More art to explore on March 28

With your newly purchased or freshly polished jewellery, check out Arise, our Fine Art student exhibition, later that evening. Nine graduating artists from Georgian’s Fine Art program will be showcasing their work at The Campus Gallery, featuring printmaking, drawing, painting and sculpture. As these artists transition from their school environment to their professional arts careers, Arise showcases their hard work over the course of their program and offers a vision of contemporary art through the lens of emerging artists.

The opening reception is March 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. If you can’t make it, the exhibition runs until April 17. The Campus Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends from noon to 4 p.m.
