Media relations guidelines

Georgian welcomes requests from news media and strives to answer all inquiries promptly. We ask you make all media requests – including requests for interviews – through the Marketing, Communications and Recruitment department, at mediarelations@georgiancollege.ca or 705.728.1968.

We operate on the principle that restrictions on news media personnel should be limited. However, out of respect for the privacy and safety of students, employees and visitors, we have set some rules regarding media access. Among them are:

  • Journalists must be invited or gain permission prior to coming onto campus. Notice of their intention to visit must be given to the Media Relations contact as soon as possible and preferably a day in advance.
  • Media Relations may choose to escort journalists while on campus, especially if the story concerns a student or students.

If media representatives are on campus without prior approval, Campus Safety Services may be contacted, and the media representatives may be asked to leave.

Ask an expert

Georgian is home to a diverse group of accomplished faculty members who are experts within their respective fields. They offer a broad range of expertise and are available to share their knowledge with the media.

If you wish to speak to one of our faculty members, please contact our media relations team directly.
