Program description
Students are provided with the theoretical knowledge and practical training to perform most basic plumbing techniques. Teamwork and project based learning are emphasized. Students engage in plumbing projects from design and drawing to implementation, working in accordance with codes and health and safety requirements of the plumbing trade.

What are the admission requirements for the Plumbing Techniques program?
Plumbing Techniques admission requirements
OSSD or equivalent with
- Grade 12 English (C or U)
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing. Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for admission; refer to the Credit for Prior Learning website for details:

What career paths can I take as a plumber?
Your Plumbing Techniques certificate gives you many career opportunities
Upon completion of the program, graduates can apply for work as a plumber’s apprentice. They may find a range of occupations in the plumbing field, including construction, maintenance, industrial, as well as service related opportunities in wholesale, retail and municipal waterworks. Graduates choosing to continue their education may opportunities HVAC, gas fitting and municipal utilities operation.
Graduates are eligible for exemption from Level 1 in-school training requirements when entering 306A Plumber apprenticeship.
