Course description

In this course, students are introduced to the concepts and basic configuration of switching and routing, virtual local area networks (VLAN), wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security. Students learn the skills and hands-on experience needed to design, install, operate, and maintain networks in small to medium-sized businesses, as well as enterprise and service provider environments.

Post Secondary level COMP 1035 Networking Essentials Minimum Grade of 50
or Post Secondary level COMP 1081 Networking Fundamentals (ODE) Minimum Grade of 50

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
