Course description

Students examine the scope of practice of the Personal Support Worker (PSW) as it relates to the role of the PSW, person-centred care, and the health care system. Students develop an understanding of the PSW as part of an interprofessional team by communicating with others and exploring the importance of advocacy and conflict resolution. Through discussion of topics such as stress management and reflective practice, students learn the importance of self-care in the PSW role.
