Pharmacology RPN Refresher

In this course, Registered Practical Nurses have the opportunity to review the concepts of physiology and pharmacology. Pharmacology is presented from a systems approach, reviewing drug classifications, drug interactions, psychosocial aspects of drug use and pharmacotherapeutics. Dosage calculations and administration skills for the safe administration of medications are reviewed.. The role of the nurse in health teaching for patients and the legalities of administration are also examined. A student must attain a minimum of 60% or a letter grade of P (Pass) or S (Satisfactory) in this course.
