Fluid Mechanics

MENG 2005

Course description

Various fluids, and fluid systems, are used in engineering environments and processes. Therefore, an understanding of fluid mechanics is a requirement for Technologists. In this course students study static and dynamic properties of incompressible fluids. They also apply Bernoulli’s equation to calculate losses and pump head gain in steady flow closed systems. Laboratory sessions provide practical experience of the theory covered.

Course Hours

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
