Course description

In this course, students learn common recreational boat term definitions, in water and out of water boat handling, land storage methods, extended storage procedures, and common on-board operational systems including electrical, plumbing, and corrosion control. Students explore the use of information systems, along with Transport Canada and the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) installation and repair standards. Successful students may have the opportunity to become certified by ABYC.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
