Course description

In this course, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) explores the role of the RPN in community nursing. Discussion focuses on public health concepts, primary health care, and the community assessment process. Diversity, family structure, and health promotion and protection across the lifespan are examined. Current social, political, environmental issues and trends, and their influence on the Canadian health care system and community nursing are also examined. A student must attain a minimum of 60% or a letter grade of P (Pass) or S (Satisfactory) in this course.
