Biography
Michelle Nader-Sanchez is a Registered Nurse (RN) and nursing educator with over 13 years of clinical experience and over 7 years in nursing education. Her clinical background in neurosurgical, medical-surgical, and trauma intensive care has shaped her approach to both patient care and teaching, with a strong emphasis on clinical reasoning, teamwork, and patient-centered practice.
Michelle began her academic journey through the Western–Fanshawe Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, graduating in 2013. She went on to practice in high-acuity settings, including Hamilton General Hospital and Trillium Health Partners, where she developed expertise in caring for critically ill patients. During this time, she also contributed to the development of future nurses through preceptorship and mentorship of students and new staff.
With a growing passion for teaching, Michelle transitioned into nursing education and has since taught across multiple institutions, including Niagara College, Humber College, and McMaster University. She has experience teaching in PSW, RPN, BScN and critical care certification programs delivering instruction across classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical environments. Her teaching spans a wide range of subjects, including health assessment, pathophysiology, nursing theory, and evidence-based practice.
Michelle completed her Master of Nursing with a teaching focus through Athabasca University in 2023, further strengthening her expertise in curriculum development, student-centered learning, and simulation-based education.
She currently serves as a full-time faculty member and Program Coordinator at Georgian College’s Owen Sound campus.
“My passion for nursing education stems from my commitment to supporting students in becoming confident, compassionate, and competent nurses. I strive to create a learning environment that encourages critical thinking, reflection, and growth, while preparing students to navigate the complexities of today’s healthcare system. I take pride in helping students bridge the gap between theory and practice as they develop into safe and effective nursing professionals”
