Focus on Teaching Conference
Excellence in teaching and engaging students in learning is both challenging and exciting. The Focus on Teaching Conference will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 and focused on how to build significant capacity for teaching and learning excellence by providing a forum to:
- celebrate the work of teachers in a fun, engaging, and rewarding way
- dialogue with colleagues from across disciplines
- engage in informed and constructive conversations related to the complexities of teaching and learning
- share strategies and insights that increase teaching and learning effectiveness
Advancing Learning
Advancing Learning has been the province’s premiere instructional technology conference since the 1990s. We have prided ourselves in fostering an environment where educators (faculty, instructional designers, multimedia and graphic specialists) share their direct classroom and faculty support experiences with other colleagues. Where else can you learn first-hand from practicing educators about a host of topics related to educational technology, digital tools and digital learning environments, and student engagement? This grassroots approach really does help with advancing learning in Ontario.
Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE)
STLHE strives to be the pre-eminent national voice, and a world leader, for enhancing teaching and learning in higher education. The Society supports research, its dissemination, increased awareness, and application of research through scholarly teaching and learning.
STLHE has been so privileged to be partnered with amazing post-secondary institutions for the past 39 years, and next year we’re going to have an exciting partnership between STLHE and the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Algonquin College, and Collège La Cité. We’re delighted to have these 4 partners as we launch and we’re looking forward to a year of celebration. Our amazing milestones in 2020-2021 include celebrating the 40th anniversary of our conferences, the 35th anniversary of the 3M Award, the 10th anniversary of CJSOTL, and many more milestones that you, our members, will bring!
