Course description

Canadian nonprofit organizations provide an organizational framework for society to identify and respond to diverse community needs, including social, cultural, and environmental issues. Through research and discussion, students critically examine the capacity of citizens, individually and collectively, to participate in resolving emerging community issues in partnership with nonprofit organizations. Students assess the nonprofit sector's ability to effect community change from local, national and/or global perspectives.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
