Course description

This course provides students with an understanding of the principles and application of facilitative techniques designed to assist persons with developmental disabilities acquire new skills. Through a variety of procedures,including precision teaching, students will be able to utilize strategies to assist, coach or teach skills to optimize independence and encourageself-advocacy. The strategies utilized are consistent with respecting and valuing people

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
