Course description

This is an Honours-level research course devoted to exploring, from a critical and theoretical perspective, the nature of policing, crime, and criminal justice. In this course, students focus on individual research topics with in the field of policing and criminal justice. Students attend a weekly seminar at which various issues associated with the linking of theory and method are examined and where students can both discuss their progress and share their research experiences. On completion, students orally defend their written thesis and develop their position(s) in relation to the intersections between policy, theory, development and implementation in their given area of research.

Undergraduate - degree level level POLC 3014 Intro Res Methods for Policing Minimum Grade of 50
or Undergraduate - degree level level POLC 2002 Research Methods for Policing Minimum Grade of 50
