Course description

Students apply the concepts and skills of a Fire Inspector, including fire safety, codes, standards, fire protection systems, and the process of inspection. Students gain the requisite theory and practical skills requirements for NFPA 1031, Fire Inspector 1, as defined in Chapter 4 of NFPA 1031 Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner - 2014 Edition. Students are responsible for ensuring completion of all other co/pre-requisites for the NFPA Fire Inspector Qualification. Students will be eligible to write the NFPA 1031 OFM exam upon course completion with results held on file until completion of other co-requisites is confirmed. Course registrants are recommended to have NFPA 1072 prior to registering in this course.

This course provides the requisite theory and practical skills requirements for NFPA 1031, Fire Inspector Level 1, and students will be permitted to write the OFM exam upon successful completion. Please note: Students are responsible for ensuring their completion of all other pre-requisites and co-requisites required for the NFPA 1031, 2014 Edition Fire Inspector qualification. OFM exam results will be kept on file until completion of all pre and co-requisites are confirmed. If the standard requirements change, students will be required to meet the new standard as per the OFM.
