Snow Resort Operations grad Aaron Harrison, Assistant Manager, Snow School and Summer Programming, Blue Mountain, Collingwood: “SRO definitely helped me to get to where I am now.”

Finding a seasonal job at a snow resort in Canada is a good thing, but finding a full-time, year-round job at a snow resort is even better! More than 30 graduates of Georgian’s Snow Resort Operations (SRO) program are living their dreams working full-time in the snow resort industry, and that number is growing.

Aaron Harrison is one of four Snow Resort Operations students who have found full-time, year-round work at Blue Mountain in Collingwood. From being an every-night park rider, Aaron is now assistant manager of the snow school and summer programming.

“SRO definitely helped me to get to where I am now,” Aaron says.

“There was a time when, as a snow resort employee, you had no choice but to find yourself another career for the summer months,” says Rob Butler, SRO co-ordinator. “Nowadays, there are more opportunities for full-time, year-round work but it takes special skills, abilities and opportunities to get them. That’s where SRO offers our students a real advantage.”

Some of the other resorts where grads are working full-time include Bromont, Chicopee, Craigleith, Glen Eden, Horseshoe, Lake Louise, Mount St. Louis Moonstone, Osler Bluffs, Whistler Blackcomb and Silver Star Mountain Resort.
