A pilot study at the Barrie Campus will help determine the amount of organic waste that could be collected and the feasibility of organic waste collection.
Until Feb. 7 (Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), students, faculty, staff and campus visitors can drop food scraps off in an organic waste bin in the cafeteria.
Only food waste – like pizza crusts and apple cores – will be accepted. All paper, plastic, cans and other recyclables and waste will go into their usual white, grey or blue collection bins at recycling stations throughout the college.
Please stop, sort and help divert organic waste away from landfills. To more about Georgian’s environmental efforts, visit our sustainability page.
