Marine industry leaders came to Georgian College on February 29 and March 1 to present technical papers to Marine Navigation and Engineering cadets. The event, called Ideas in Motion, has been running for four years and is a great opportunity for marine cadets and faculty to meet with industry personnel, learn about the latest innovative technology and procedures, and do some industry networking.
Sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineers, the event ended with a visit to the Algoma vessel Algoway, which is overwintering in the Owen Sound harbor. Marine Navigation students attending presentations on both the business and practical aspects of the industry also visited the ship.
