Tuesday, Sept. 8 was Orientation day for brand new students of Georgian College. Despite the soggy weather, thousands attended welcome events, which took place at all seven campuses.
To help get students comfortable at Georgian, each campus offered get-to-know-you activities, academic breakout sessions, information on student services, free food and tours.
But there was also time for a bit of fun. In Barrie, students competed in a tug-of-war, played on large inflatable games, and took in a movie. Orillia students tried out Human Zorbs and took selfies with the Shinerama Llama. In Owen Sound, activities included Laser Music Mayhem and Tug-A-Hamster.
Wednesday, Sept. 9 was the first day of classes for Georgian’s fall semester. If you know a student who is struggling, please direct them to student services. Georgian wants to help all students successfully transition into college life.
