Georgian’s Robert Marchessault’s solo exhibition at the Bau-xi Gallery

Robert Marchessault will present a solo exhibition of his new paintings at Toronto’s Bau-xi Gallery beginning Feb. 9 with more than 15 new paintings on display.

A senior instructional designer at the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Academic Excellence, Marchessault has maintained a professional art practice for more than 30 years. Working from his studio in Oro Township, he has presented more than 55 solo shows since 1980 in Canada, the USA and Europe.

His unique depiction of trees as subject has brought his work to the attention of discerning collectors and art enthusiasts.

Visitors can meet the artist, enjoy refreshments and listen to tasteful jazz styling’s by Adrean Faruggia on piano and Stu Steinhart on bass.

Opening: Feb.9 from 2 to 4 p.m., Bau-Xi Gallery, 340 Dundas St. W., Toronto (just across from the Art Gallery of Ontario)

Exhibit runs until Feb. 23.
