Staff, students and members of the public are invited to Georgian College’s 13th Traditional Pow Wow. The annual event, organized by students, staff and community members, is a celebration of traditional culture and tradition. It takes place at the Barrie Campus Athletic Centre.

Join the community in learning about and celebrating Indigenous culture and tradition. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, have fun, sample food, and enjoy the day.

The event will be held in the Barrie Campus gymnasium on Saturday, March 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The spectacular grand entry will take place at noon and again at 7 p.m. for the evening session. Dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and the event wraps up at 9 p.m.

Admission and parking are free. Donations of non-perishable food items will go to the Food Locker program, an on-campus food bank for Georgian students. All are welcome.

“Pow Wow is a time for people to participate, learn, celebrate and share culture and heritage through drumming, singing, dancing, feasting, sharing and laughter,” she says. “Once again this year there will be many talented dancers, drum groups and amazing craft vendors who will be selling their handcrafted wares.”
