LogoCMYK_TrainInTradesGeorgian College faculty and alumni are featured in a new documentary created by Rogers TV as part of Train in Trades, or TNT. Led by Mayor Jeff Lehmann and MPP Rod Jackson in partnership with Georgian, TNT aims to raise awareness about local job opportunities in the skilled trades.

The documentary dispels some of the myths and highlights the many advantages of becoming a tradesperson. Georgian Academic Program Technologist Ed Leach and Professor Gary Harris discuss some of the education pathways and technologies in the sector. Several skilled workers – from welders to electricians – talk about their jobs as profitable, secure, safe and fulfilling.

Manufacturing represents a large portion of local industry and many trades jobs are waiting to be filled across our area.

To learn more about opportunities in the skilled trades, come to the free Train in Trades Expo at the Barrie Molson Centre on Oct. 23 from 2 to 7 p.m. Georgian College will be a major exhibitor at the event. To learn more about TNT, visit
