The Georgian Bay Club Foundation’s fundraising efforts at its annual golf tournament have resulted in a hole-in-one for local postsecondary education.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation visited the Georgian College John Di Poce South Georgian Bay Campus to meet with students to celebrate the completion of their $75,000-pledge toward the campus through the Power of Education campaign.
“Our Foundation members work diligently to stand behind and enhance the health and well-being of our community. Postsecondary education is a key component of that well-being and we are proud to support Georgian College in its efforts to offer more local opportunities,” said Paula Zubek, outgoing president of the Georgian Bay Club Foundation.
Since the Foundation was established 10 years ago, it has donated a total of more than $1 million to local charities. The donations are made possible through the generosity of all those involved in the tournament.
“Through this incredible donation, The Georgian Bay Club Foundation has made a positive impact on current and future generations of students who will benefit from Georgian’s first permanent campus in the region,” said Barbara Weider, Chair of the John Di Poce South Georgian Bay Campus Campaign Cabinet.
Georgian has a $750,000 fundraising goal in support of this campus. For more information on programs and services available at this location, as well as opportunities to support Georgian students, visit www.georgiancollege.ca/giving or the facility located at 499 Raglan St. in Collingwood.
