In a competition against hundreds of participants from across the country, Georgian grad Carolyn Doukas has come out on top.
To celebrate the 105th Grey Cup, the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group, the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Grey Cup Festival team announced a ticket design competition that ran from April 10 to June 27.
The best 20 designs were presented to a panel of judges and Doukas’ Canadian themed, fan-inspired Grey Cup ticket was selected as the winning design.
“I am excited, honoured and proud to win this contest and have my design featured on the game tickets for the 105th Grey Cup,” said Carolyn Doukas of Erin, Ontario. “I came up with the design by looking at old tickets, thinking about what Canada means to me and my love for the CFL.”
While completing her three-year Graphic Design advanced diploma, Doukas met her closest friends, enjoyed the Georgian spirit and loved her projects and placement. Now, you can find her completing freelance jobs while working at a restaurant, and designing menus and advertisements.
Doukas attended her first CFL game at the age of 12 with her father. For winning the contest, she attended the Grey Cup in Ottawa on Nov. 26. She was beyond excited to see her third Grey Cup game and the Toronto Argonauts win. Doukas says, “It was such a close game but a real Canadian one because of the snow!”
