Nine Georgian Computer Studies students recently embarked on a journey as technical support specialists to help accelerate the success of a local Toronto business, Ecobee.
The college’s Co-operative Education and Career Success department and Computer Studies faculty worked with Ecobee to place students in positions where they could gain valuable work experience and offer fresh perspectives and industry insights.
“It’s always great to hear when students are successful in their field-of-study co-op placements, and for so many to be hired all at once is very exciting,” says Rita Pittman, Co-op/Internship Consultant.
An Ecobee representatives shares, “Georgian has been the most accommodating and fantastic to work with!” Ecobee focuses on smart thermostats and they continue to post for future co-op work terms.
The students will work at Ecobee for a four-month placement ending in December, with seven students graduating in 2018 and two in 2019.
