Barrie, ON – January 29th, 2013 – The Georgian College Athletics Department is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in the execution of the 2013 CCAA National Badminton Championship which will be held at the Georgian College Barrie Campus from February 27th through March 2nd, 2013.
The CCAA National Badminton Championship brings together the finest college athletes from across Canada to compete individually and in teams to determine the best in the country.
Volunteers will have an active role in a variety of roles at the event from being team hosts, facility assistants to even line judges during play.
For those interested in being a line judge during the event there will be a free clinic Wednesday, January 30th at the Georgian College Athletic Centre from 5pm – 8pm. Volunteer line judges will also have the chance to officiate at the 2015 Pan Am Games hosted in Toronto.
Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

Team Hosts: to support provincial teams throughout the duration of the CCAA National Badminton Championships. Provide college and City of Barrie information to teams and individuals. Assist and support the team from when they arrive at the airport through to accreditation and the Championship Banquet, at the Opening ceremonies, court side during their competition and at the closing ceremonies.
Facility Assistant: Volunteers needed to assist with tournament operations. This could involve security, facility set up, maintenance or assisting with the athletes lounge.
Line Judges: Free Clinic Wednesday January 30th in the Gymnasium from 5pm – 8pm. Free Pizza for those that take the clinic. Here is your chance to learn more about the most popular sport in China. The CCAA National Badminton Championship will be hosted by Georgian College in the Athletic Centre from February 28- March 2, 2013. Volunteers will also have the chance to officiate at the 2015 Pan Am Games hosted in Toronto.
